🔍 Finding of the week:
Apple vs Facebook
Apple has launched its new update for iOS 14.5, which now enables users to decide whether they want the apps they are using to track them or not. This is HUUUGE! WSJ posted a great video explaining why this is such a big deal:
We like this a LUT
Many of our video shootings are done entirely on mobile phones. It is sometimes beneficial to change the input settings of our mobile cameras to maximise the use of the dynamic range of film material. You can use LOG Mode in filmic pro to achieve this. Using a logarithmic curve on the input allows you to capture more information in the midtones than would be possible with a standard, linear setting whilst still keeping the files at a manageable size. During colour grading, you can then process the material in Premiere with a custom LUT (= Look Up Table) to give your videos that vibrant, cinematic feel. We will for sure experiment with this in the future and let you know about the results!
✌️ ICYMI
Metin made a video answering questions around education, crypto and how to grow your business. Watch it here:

Some of us enjoy working from home, others not so. Since this week was "World Day for Safety and Health at Work", we like to think back to this podcast episode where Metin asked what you like and dislike about home office.
Our Social Media Nerds Facebook Group is growing. 🥳
If you like this newsletter, feel free to share it with your colleagues, grandma, or neighbour who is secretly missing the office printer fights.
See you next week!
